Celebration: A Centennial History of the Grantham Brethren in Christ was commissioned by the Church Board in 1995. The congregation had outgrown its building on campus and had started plans for a new, larger facility. Many long-time members felt a sense of urgency to preserve our history. The Grantham Church was entering a new chapter, and we wanted to capture the stories of the life and growth of the church.

Dr. E. Morris Sider was commissioned to write the book, and ultimately brought the research up to the present, encompassing the full one hundred years of congregational history. The book is more than 300 pages in length. It includes many photos of historical significance. Many senior members contributed their own stories and favorite memories.

About the Author

Our own Dr. E. Morris Sider agreed to author this book. He served 21 years as archivist at Messiah College and 30 years as executive director and editor of the Brethren in Christ Historical Society. Sider has published over 27 books, including various biographies of early church leaders, and the history of Messiah College at its 75th anniversary, and of two other denominational schools.
