The Grantham Church has a long history of supporting missionaries and sending people to the mission field. In addition to our regular financial and prayer support for our missionaries, we hold an annual Missions Conference, with the goal of raising the level of awareness among the congregation of the various aspects and urgency of missions work, the parts of the world where our missionaries are serving, and a constant reminder that we are all called to "go and make disciples."
Current missionaries serving from the Grantham Church:
- Rich & Kathy Stuebing, Zambia, serving with THETA
- Pete & Shelly Buchwald, New England colleges,
- Angie Hess, Atlanta
- Paul & Elaine Wengert, retired physician, serving in medical missions in various countries
Missionaries we support through Brethren in Christ World Missions
- Jay & Judy Smith, working with Muslims in London, England
- Bruce & Merly Bundy, church planting in Madrid, Spain

Summer Missions Trips
We sent out several groups this summer for missions trips. Past overseas trips have been to Venezuela, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Romania team left. Other groups have serves in kentucky, West Virginia, Philadelphia, and in Ohio. In the summer of 2006 a group will be going to Zambia.
World Prayer Team
Occasionally, we host visiting furloughed missionaries who share their stories of recent experiences and prayer requests with the church. Come and hear what God is doing in the world! We generally meet one Sunday evening per month with a special speaker. The World Prayer Team vice president is Nancy Hoke.
News from our Missionaries
As updates are received from our missionaries, they are copied and placed in the colorful folders in the wall rack located near the missions bulletin board. You are invited to pick up copies and read about their lives, their work, and their prayer requests.

Missions Conference 2OO7
We are looking forward to a Missions Conference that imparts both inspiration and challenge. The theme this year is “It’s Sunday Morning: Do you know where your missionaries are?”
Join us for the worship service on Sunday, November 4, to hear John Brubaker (right), the Brethren in Christ World Missions Executive Director, tell us the current thrust of BIC missions, inspiring stories and the global challenges including our mission areas where there is persecution. There will be two adult Sunday School classes with guest speakers, one addressing the exciting opportunities through which mission work can be done and the other looking at the persecution experienced by BIC missionaries. The youth and children will have guest speakers focusing on world missions.
There will be an evening meal followed by a panel presentation and discussion on: “Do our missionaries know we care?”
The in-gathering offering will go toward supporting a teacher at the Theological College of Zimbabwe and bikes for their students.
Mark your calendar now and plan to attend!

The World Prayer Team meets on a Sunday evening every month except August and November. Our meetings are usually held in Room A1 at 6:30 p.m. and feature missionaries who are on home ministry or new recruits ready to go on assignment. We meet to acquaint our congregation with what is going on in world missions and to keep in touch with the Brethren in Christ World Missions program.

Put Wednesday, September 12 at 5:45 p.m. on your calendar for the next World Prayer Team meeting. Valerie Strite , who has been in London since August 2004 will be our speaker. Valerie is a 1998 graduate of Messiah College who attended THE CALL ’01 where she fully surrendered her life to God. During this retreat, Jay Smith shared about his work with Muslim ministry. From then on she had a great interest in working among the Muslims in London. She is now helping to facilitate short-term teams who go to London for training/outreach experiences.
Valerie also serves as a liaison between North America BICWM and Operation Mobilization offices. In addition she facilitates training/equipping individuals through Hyde Park Christian fellowship and her local church. Come and hear her give us information on the challenge of Muslim ministry in England.
Everyone is welcome to attend. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Nancy Hoke at 766-4529 or billnancy2@aol.com
