Dr. E. Morris Sider was commissioned to write the book, and ultimately brought the research up to the present, encompassing the full one hundred years of congregational history. The book will be approximately 300 pages in length. It includes many photos of historical significance. Many senior members contributed their own stories and favorite memories.
In Brethren in Christ circles, the words history or archives have long been synonymous with Dr. E. Morris Sider. His long tenure of 21 years as archivist at Messiah College and 30 years as executive director and editor of the Brethren in Christ Historical Society qualifies him as the most notable historian in the denomination.
Sider has published over 27 books, including various biographies of early church leaders, and the history of Messiah College at its 75th anniversary and of two other denominational schools. He is presently writing several chapters to update a reprint of Carlton Wittlinger’s Quest for Piety and Obedience.
