youth ministries
meet the youth pastor

Our Minister of Youth, David Stuebing, directs the church's Youth Ministries program. But a gifted team of program staff and adult mentors, carefully selected and trained, help to pastor a "church-full" of teenagers. In addition, various parents and church members take a leadership role in many events. Finally, the church’s Youth Commission makes the "big decisions" related to budget, vision, and overall ministry direction.

Youth Missions Trip to the Bronx PHOTOS
Bronx Mission Trip

The youth and adult leaders who spent a week at the Urban Discipleship Center in the Bronx in July send out their thanks to the church family who supported them financially and in prayer for their trip. God showed us many things during our time there. We worked with children in an afternoon Bible club, served a meal at Love Gospel’s lunch ministry, some even got to help with a breakfast ministry to people either homeless or living with AIDS. We worked with a team from Silverdale Brethren in Christ Church and worked, played and prayed together well throughout the week. Everyone came away from the experience changed in some way. Thanks for your part in making this week possible! -- Susan Getty, youth leader

I’ve said it many times before; our teenagers are some of the best ever! Within what seemed like minutes of arriving in NY, our group was making friends with the Silverdale BIC group. I loved watching them interact with each other. Whether working in the kitchen at Love Gospel Assembly or with the kids during the VBS it seemed that everything just came as natural to them. They didn’t stand around waiting for someone to ask them to do something; they just jumped right in and got it done.

The kids at VBS responded very well to the teens. I don’t think I heard one complaint about anything — even when we walked “forever” in the rain to get to a city Mission to sort clothing. Every time I take a trip like this with our youth group, I come away feeling that I’ve grown more .because of them and the love they exhibit for each other and to those we go to serve. -- Bryan Marquart, youth leader
