Email From the Pastor

Hello Brothers & Sisters,

We had a great day at Grantham Church yesterday. We were blessed to have Eric Byrd and Abby Madden leading us in worship. We will see Eric again at Harvest Happening on October 2nd. The Eric Byrd Trio will be performing at our annual fall event.

Please stay tuned for more details.

Our worship service yesterday continued with the theme of prayer and our intimate connection to God. Did you miss the sermon? You can now listen to Thy Kingdom Come at our website.

In summary, here are a few major points of the message:

1.       Jesus gave us a model prayer with God’s kingdom being the central concern.

2.       We should relate to God as the good Father who loves his children.

3.       Prayer not only changes us, it also moves God in response to us.

So the Father responds to his children, especially their desires to do the Father’s will and bring his Kingdom on the earth as it is in heaven. I believe this is a major key to unlocking God’s power in our lives. When we say “Yes!” to his good will for our lives and respond to his calling on us, he reveals himself mightily.

The same goes for the church. When a church says “Yes!” to whatever God is doing and wants to do among them, the Holy Spirit comes with power.  What then does God want from Grantham Church? He is looking for children who want to participate and share in his Kingdom work. He is looking for disciples who will recognize how he is moving and join him there. Lord, open our eyes to see how you are at work!

May the Lord use us as conduits and catalysts for a movement of the Holy Spirit.

P.S. You may have noticed we are beginning to make some updates to the church logo and our communications. For example, we made a slight adjustment to the look of the bulletin on Sunday. In the near future you can expect to see a complete overhaul, including the reintroduction of the “Body Life” insert.

Thank you for your patience as we make some helpful changes at Grantham Church.

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
