Email From the Pastor

Hello Brothers and Sisters,

I hope this letter finds you living in an awareness of God’s love and peace.

Did you miss the sermon yesterday? You can listen to Whom Shall I Fear? here at our website:

I was greatly encouraged by your responses in worship. Many of you wrote your fears down on a notecard and placed them in the baskets up front (and in the back) as a way of taking those fears to God. Thank you for stepping out and moving in response to the Holy Spirit.

I trust God used the experience in your life.

I want you to know that the church staff prayed for you today. We prayed that you would know God’s love and peace, and that God would give you the courage of Christ to overcome your fears. Lord, give us all the courage to have faith (trust) that YOU are greater than all of our fears.

As you look ahead to a new week, I want to encourage you not only to unplug from those things which trouble you, but substitute that time with prayer and thankfulness. Spend a few minutes each day just dwelling on the good things in your life.

Remember, every good and perfect gift is from God (James 1:17).

If you can name it as a good thing, you can count it as a blessing of God’s grace to you. I promise you that reflection upon these gifts from God will positively impact your heart and mind (Phil 4:8-9). Give it a try! It’s not only the way the brain works, it is how God’s Spirit works with us.

I’ll leave you with some really encouraging news. We are officially launching all of our Fall activities on Wednesday, September 7th and Sunday, September 11th. Also, on that Sunday I will begin preaching a Fall sermon series called Aliens & Exiles: Being a Christian in a Post-Christian World.

Stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, please pray for Grantham Church. Pray for hands and feet for ministry. Pray that God will prepare our hearts for the work he wants to do this Fall.

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
