Dear Brothers & Sisters,
I’m writing you this letter just before I leave for the day (Monday) and head home to pack. By the time you read this, I will probably be on an airplane with my family bound for Texas. We’re looking forward to our time of rest and relaxation with family. We appreciate your prayers for good health and safe travel.
If you’re in town this weekend, I do hope that you will join the church in worship. Lynda Gephart will be preaching a message on the importance of having young people in our church. They are a vital part of the Body of Christ. I believe that Lynda will inspire us in the days ahead as we look forward to the arrival of our new Youth & Young Adult Pastor, Matt Bushoven, this August.
Also, this will be Doug Curry’s last Sunday leading worship as the Interim Worship Arts Pastor. We had a wonderful time celebrating Doug’s ministry and showing our appreciation during lunch this past Sunday. Thank you for coming and expressing your love for Doug and his family. If you couldn’t make it, please share some encouraging words with him this Sunday.
As you may recall, Doug will bring the message for Dave Perry’s installation service the following Sunday, July 9. I will be back that Sunday and leading in various other ways. I hope to see you for that special service as we install Dave and welcome him with a luncheon following the service.
If you missed the sermon on Sunday, you can now listen to the final message in our 3-part series on raising children to love Jesus and the church. Remember, you can always check out our suggested reading for the current and previous sermon series on the bookshelf in the lobby by the church mailboxes. I hope that you are finding that helpful in your continued engagement with the messages.
Finally, be aware that you will not receive a letter from me next week, but you will receive the announcements of all upcoming events. Until we see each other again, I want to encourage you to continue being in prayer for one another. Pray that the Spirit will continue to work among us this summer, and that he would prepare our hearts for new growth this fall.
May God continue to bless the Grantham Church.
Grace & Peace,
