Advent 2018.jpg

It is entirely understandable that we experience sadness in a world that has yet to be released from sin and its bondage to decay. The Christmas season can be especially difficult for many people. However, Jesus said that in the midst of our sorrow we can know a joy that isn't dependent upon circumstance. In Signs of Joy (3 of 4), Pastor Kelly shares how we can know God's joy and why we should do things just because we enjoy them.

Sermon Series: God is Coming | Advent 2018
Sermon Title:
Signs of Hope
Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 33:14-16; Psalm 25:1-10; Luke 21:25-36

Advent 2018.jpg

Advent begins in the darkness and invites us to see our great need for redemption and deliverance--our need for the light. It is there that we wait in anticipation for the Messiah. And it is there that we can already see the signs of his coming. In Signs of Hope (1 of 4), Pastor David helps us to see that there is good reason to believe that the long winter will come to an end, for the snow is melting and the kingdom of God is sprouting leaves.

Patterns of Light (1 of 4)

Sermon Series: Patterns of Light | Advent 2017
Sermon Title: The Coming of Light
Scripture Reading: Genesis 1:3-4; Isaiah 9:2; John 1:1-14; 2 Corinthians 4:6

Patterns of Light.jpg

According to the Bible, God’s first act of creation was light bursting forth in the darkness. And when God separated light from darkness, this wasn’t just a way of describing what happened in the physical world. It also said something about the cosmic struggle between good and evil—a central motif in the New Testament. In The Coming of Light (1 of 4), Pastor David invites us to see the advent of Jesus as the dawning of new creation, where the life of Christ becomes a light to all humanity.

Ancient Words (1 of 5)

Ancient Words

Advent to Christmas 2016 | Nov 27 - Dec 25

Ancient Words is a series that invites us to see the divine nature of the Scriptures by experiencing the power of the Messianic prophecies that were fulfilled in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Predictive prophecy is unique to the Bible. The apostle Peter said the prophets were “carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:20-21) as they spoke of things they themselves may not have originally intended or fully understood. It wasn’t until the advent of Christ that eyes were opened to the prophecies and their fulfillment in Jesus. In Ancient Words, we are encouraged to take comfort in knowing that God put signposts in place to direct us to Jesus and trust that he is the promised Messiah. May these ancient words empower our faith and give us hope for the future.

Sermon Title: The Coming of the Deliverer (1 of 5)
Scripture Reading: Genesis 3:15; Deuteronomy 18:17-19; John 5:39-40, 46

Jesus told the people of his day that the Hebrew Scriptures point to him. He even said that Moses wrote about him. What did Jesus mean? How do the Scriptures prophetically testify to the coming of Christ and to a deliverer that will defeat the enemy and set his people free? In The Coming of the Deliverer (1 of 5), Pastor David encourages us to see how Jesus is the true deliverer of God’s people.
