Jesus and the whole of the New Testament calls us to live in harmony with one another. When people of other religions disagree, they divide. When people in politics disagree, they divide. When the church disagrees, we stay together, because the gospel has made us a family. In Being a Third Way Family, Bruxy Cavey (The Meeting House, Canada) shares how we can cultivate the radical love of Jesus in the church and overcome our differences.

Do You See What I See?

Guest Speaker: Bob Beaty
Sermon Title: Do You See What I See?
Scripture Reading: Mark 10:13-45

DoYouSee.jpg

It is natural for each of us to live life looking out for our own interests and building our resumes of importance. Jesus invites those who would follow him to open themselves to a new way of seeing the world. As we move closer to Jesus we can’t help but have our view of life refocused. Listen as Bishop Bob Beaty shows us how Jesus calls his disciples to see people and situations the way he does.

40 Days in the Desert (6 of 6)

Guest Speaker: Tony Campolo
Sermon Title: Third Way Allegiance: Following Jesus in an American Empire (6 of 6)
Scripture Reading: Matthew 5:3-12; John 18:36; Revelation 18-19

40 Days in the Desert.jpg

On Palm Sunday, Jesus rode into Jerusalem as a humble servant on a donkey, not a soldier on a warhorse. This comical act captures who Jesus was and what his ministry as Messiah was all about. In Third Way Allegiance: Following Jesus in an American Empire (6 of 6), Tony Campolo talks about what it means to take Jesus’ teachings seriously, as we learn to follow him in a modern-day Babylon.

Being a Third Way Church

Sermon Title: Being a Third Way Church
Scripture Reading: Matthew 22:15-22; John 17:20-23; Ephesians 4:2-3

It’s hard to address issues of concern today without getting political. We don't want to pick sides and add to the noise, so how do we navigate our divisive culture and model a "third way" in our church? In other words, how can we be willing to speak up about injustice and work for more of the Kingdom without mixing the gospel with partisan politics? In Being a Third Way Church, Pastor David calls us to embody the example of Christ.
