Fall 2016 Sermon Series
September 11th - November 13th
Sermon Title: Faith That Burns Brighter Than the Furnace
Scripture Reading: Daniel 3:1-30; Malachi 4:1-3; Psalm 24:1-6
Sermon Focus: The prophet Daniel wasn’t the only one facing the challenges of being faithful amidst idolatrous empire. A few years after Daniel interprets the dreams of Nebuchadnezzar and is recognized as serving the God of all gods, the king orders everyone to bow down and worship a massive golden statue. Daniel’s friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, are singled out as exiles who reject the liturgy of empire. In Faith That Burns Brighter Than the Furnace (5 of 9), Pastor David challenges us to cast aside all of our idols for the worship of the one true God.
Join us for worship at 10:30 AM in the sanctuary.
