Aliens & Exiles (3 of 9)

Fall 2016 Sermon Series
September 11th - November 13th

Sermon Series: Aliens & Exiles
Sermon Title: By the Rivers of Babylon
Scripture Reading: Psalm 137:1-6; Jeremiah 7:1-11; Lamentations 3:22-26

Sermon Focus: The kingdom of Israel was defeated by Assyria and taken off into exile because of their idolatry and injustice. At that time, Isaiah prophesied the Babylonian empire would rise and someday finish off the kingdom of Judah, taking them into exile because of their unfaithfulness to God. It was the prophet Jeremiah that witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem and lamented the loss of what was. In "By the Rivers of Babylon," Pastor David addresses the importance of lamenting loss, accepting the reality of exile, and waiting on God to prove his faithfulness to us in our darkness.

Join us for worship at 10:30 AM in the sanctuary.
